Value airline for everyone fastjet’s on-time performance continues to consistently lead all other African regional airlines. In August the carrier achieved a 90% average network on time performance. This was the sixth month this year where fastjet exceeded the 90% mark. Fastjet is one of the most consistently punctual airlines in the world and counts amongst the top airlines when measured against flightstats.com, a website that measures thousands of airlines globally for on-time performance every month.
Fastjet’s recent launch of the Harare Bulawayo route sees the airline now offering four routes from its hub in Harare, connecting Harare to Victoria Falls, Bulawayo, Johannesburg and Dar es Salaam. “Next month fastjet celebrates its third year of affordable travel in Zimbabwe,” says spokesperson Hein Kaiser. The airline carries around 40 000 Guests on its Zimbabwean routes every month. “Movement of people and goods between economic and tourism hubs contributes substantially to growth, opportunity and connecting friends and family. We remain committed to be a catalyst to Zimbabwe’s sustained growth today, tomorrow and into the future.”
The airline’s Customer Experience programme has also made positive progress as a recent internal survey showed that most Zimbabweans rate fastjet’s customer service as ‘really good’. “We believe in constant and never-ending improvement, and with the introduction of the first bag and a light snack included on most of our routes, our on-time performance and improved customer experience, fastjet continues to show our commitment to our Guests,” says Kaiser. The airline plans to introduce initiatives on a sustained basis to continue improving its service levels.
Kaiser adds that with the holiday season approaching quickly it is advisable for anyone with travel plans to book their flights early. “Booking in advance is the best way to get the best deal. In addition, the holidays are peak travel periods so demand is high.” The fastjet website is also accessible from mobile phones making it even easier to book. “With our exemplary on-time performance, not only do fastjet Guests enjoy more affordable fares and our new on-board product but they also reach their destination punctually.”
