10 MUST HAVE APPS FOR TRAVEL JUNKIES

If you love traveling, you know that it’s not an easy thing to do. A lot of planning and organizing goes into a good trip. But as with most things in life, there’s an app for that, or 9 apps to be exact. These apps will make your trips a little easier. They will help you plan it, make sure you don’t forget anything and get the best deal that’s available for you. This way you will have  a little more time to just chill and enjoy yourself.

1) AlooPhone

aloophone.com
AlooPhone is a new mobile phone program takes you to higher level in communication world , from now your family and friends will never be away from you wherever you are.

2) Packpoint

All trips start at home, with packing. Some people actually start packing  a week in advance, to give themselves enough time to remember everything they need to take with them on a trip. With this app, you don’t need that much time. Packpoint makes packing fast, effective and easy. You can put in all the details of the trip into this app, like how long is it and where are you going and what you plan on doing, and the app will calculate everything you need on the trip. Packpoint takes into consideration the weather, the duration of your stay and the activities you plan to partake in and tells you exactly what you need to pack. This way, you’ll never forget to take any essentials with you. It’s an amazing app for travel junkies.

3) Cheapflights

If you love getting the cheapest flight ever – this is the app for you. This app will save you a bunch of money. It’s perfect for those who make up their mind last minute. All you need to do is put in the dates of your trip and where is it that you’re going. That’s it. The app will scan all the flights available and give you the results listed from the cheapest to the most expensive. Yes, sometimes the cheapest flight means you’ll have to do a transfer, or even a few, if you’re going to a far away  destination, but that’s the sacrifices you should be willing to make if you want to travel cheap.

4) Hopper

For those of you who actually plan ahead there’s Hopper. This app is more suitable for people who have flexible travel dates. Maybe you’re just thinking about going somewhere, but haven’t made up your mind for sure. This app analyzes millions of flights every day and seeks out those times when the prices drop. You can put in the city you’re planning on going and the app will analyze flights for it every day, making predictions. You can even set up push notifications, so it will let you know when is the best time to buy a ticket. You can save a lot of money with this app.

5) HotelTonight

his app does exactly what the name says, it searches for hotels that have rooms available tonight, or up to 7 days in advance. You might think there’s no way of getting a cheap room, on the same day you book it, but you’d be wrong. A lot of people cancel their bookings last minute and hotels are left with empty rooms. At this point the hotels will lower the prices, to earn at least something and not just be left with an empty room. So if you ever find yourself in a new city with no place to stay, try HotelTonight, you might be surprised how much money you can actually save.

6) AirBNB

Hotels aren’t for everyone. Sometimes we just want to stay in a comfortable apartment and pretend we’re actually living in the place we’re visiting. AirBNB is perfect for that. It’s your home away from home. Here you can pick a place based on its location or price or whatever other specifications you have. You can choose to search for an apartment or a house, you can have the whole place to yourself or share it with the host if you want. It’s all up to you. It’s definitely better than couchsurfing, that’s for sure.

7) Skype

You might not think of skype as a travel up at first, but trust me, it makes sense. When you’re abroad, calling someone back home can cost you a lot. We all know that international call rates are insane. Skype is your best option in situations like that. Wherever you’re staying will probably have free wifi, so calling your family back home, or calling someone abroad will be absolutely free. Of course, there are other apps, you might want to try Viber or perhaps you’re one of those weirdos who still tries to call people on facebook, but Skype has the best connection, and lately, the best animations for chats. So why bother with anything else, when you most likely already have Skype installed on your phone.

8) Foursquare

Now that you can’t actually check in using foursquare, it’s become a great app for finding cool places nearby. We tend not to trust tourist brochures at hotels, they advertise everything that’s overpriced, and those places tend to be overcrowded with tourists. Foursquare is much more convenient. You can pick places based on your interest, be it food, coffee, entertainment etc. You can also have these places listed by distance from you, or by the price. So, for example, if you want to find a cheap local coffee shop, foursquare is your best bet for that.

9) Maps.me

Getting lost in a strange city might sound romantic and adventurous, but it’s not that great if you’re on your own. You might think, well, I always have google maps, but you’ll need to be online for that, and as we know, international rates are crazy. Offline maps are your best choice in situations like that. Maps.me allows you to save detailed maps and access them offline. You can’t really create a route and be guided by the app, but you can see your locations and nearby places that are marked on the map.

10) XE

When you travel abroad you have to deal with currency exchange a lot. It’s annoying and you never really know if you’re getting a good deal or not. Let’s be real, these days we mostly use cards, and in situation where we need cash we don’t really know what to do. We run to the nearest exchange place or ATM and get the cash. Only to find out later that we lost a lot of money because of the exchange rate. XE app is here to help. It’s the easiest to use and most inclusive currency exchange app and it’ll help you find out the exchange rate in seconds. With XE you’ll never be fooled by confusing exchange rates.
