For the very first time, the Musée Marmottan Monet lifts the veil on this private passion by organising an unusual exhibition entitled Monet The Collector.

Claude Monet, the most famous of the impressionist painters, was also one this movement’s most secretive collectors. The masterpieces that he curated throughout his life make up an ensemble that is as rare as it is exceptional.

Masterpieces from his private collection: works by Delacroix, Corot, Boudin, Jongkind, Manet, Renoir, Caillebotte, Cézanne, Morisot, Pissarro, Rodin or even Signac, include paintings, drawings and sculptures that reveal a hidden aspect of the artist’s life.

Sole heirs to the painter from Giverny and custodians of the world’s largest collection of his work, the Musée Marmottan Monet is putting together this collection thanks to the support of some of the largest museums and most prestigious private collections.

It is offering a unique opportunity to discover the sentimental and artistic pantheon of Impressionism’s leading figure
